Beta Club
" Let us lead by serving others"

The National Junior Beta Club is an academic honor organization that recognizes outstanding scholastic achievement, promotes strong moral character and social responsibility, encourages service to others, fosters leadership skills, and provides settings for students to develop strong interpersonal skills.

Seventh and eighth grade students with a GPA of at least 3.5 on last year's final report card are eligible to apply for membership. One component of the application process includes two teacher recommendations attesting to moral integrity, service orientation, industrious attitude, and leadership potential. the student must also complete another component of the application which includes contact information, activities and awards, etc. Applications for the membership in the 2010-11 school year will be accepted through 8:05 a.m., Thursday, September 30. Students who miss the deadline are invited to apply next year if still registered at WMMS.

Builders' Club

Builders Club is an organization for middle school students which is sponsored by the international Kiwanis Club. It is for students who want to take positive, constructive action to build a better world for themselves and others while having a good time. The objectives of the Builders Club are:
  • To provide opportunities for working together in service to school and community
  • To develop leadership potential
  • To foster the development of strong moral character
  • To encourage loyalty to school, community, and nation.

The club advisor position is currently open. Check back later regarding this club.

FBLA

Future Business Leaders of America

FBLA is a Career and technical student organization (CTSO) which provides a unique program of career and leadership development, motivation and recognition exclusively for middle/junior high, secondary and postsecondary students enrolled in career and technical education programs. The Goals of FBLA include:

• Strengthen the confidence of students in themselves and their work.
• Create more interest in and understanding of entrepreneurial careers.
• Encourage members in the development of individual projects.
• Develop character, prepare for useful citizenship, and foster patriotism.
• Encourage and practice efficient money management.
• Encourage scholarship and promote school loyalty.
• Assist students in the establishment of occupational goals.
• Facilitate the transition from school to work.

Yearbook
"The Zephyr"

The West Millbrook Yearbook, The Zephyr, is published each year by a team of students along with a faculty advisor. This publication requires determination to meet deadlines, along with a desire to improving writing and photography skills.

Student Council

The West Millbrook Middle School Student Council is consists of members and officers chosen by the student body.

Throughout the school year, the Student Council, working with the advisors, sponsors a variety of activities in which all students can participate.
