Web Investigation ~

What Would it Take for Me to Survive on My Own?

Step Two - Food:

  • Use an online grocery site to price the items on your list.
  • In some cases, these grocery stores offer a "shop for you" service. Though you may have to pretend that you are going to use this service in order to get the prices, do NOT sign in, or register your name!!! Lowe's Foods (link below) will allow you to "shop" without signing in.
  • While you shop:
    • Look carefully at both the total price of an item, and the unit price that is also given, as in price per ounce. Be sure to purchase the items of the best value.
    • Please keep track of your purchases. You're going to later design a spreadsheet. You will need to keep an itemized list of the brand, product, size of package, and price. (So that you can print the information for you and your computer buddy at the completion of the lesson, take your notes on the computer. Open a blank document. Using the minimize function of the computer you can easily switch back and forth between your Web site and your shopping list/budget research file.)
  • Now, it's time to go shopping! Lowes Foods to Go. (Link will open in another window.)
